$45,000 in Grants Available for Online Financial Wellness Services in Polk County
Funds available to 501(c)3 nonprofits to increase financial stability of teens and young adults.
United Way of Central Florida is looking to increase the number of families, teens and adults who open bank accounts, increase savings and improve credit scores.
Applications are now being accepted for qualified nonprofit organizations to specialize in an online financial education program with personalized support and a focus on adults and youth 15 to 25 years of age.
If approved, the applying organization will receive $45,000 for the program year that starts on July 1, 2018 and ends June 30, 2019. If successful in year one, the funded program will be considered a UWCF Partner Program and will be included in the annual grant process.
UWCF seeks to increase financial stability for adults and youth through the use of a mobile budgeting application called “EveryDollar.” The non-profit that receives this $45,000 grant must demonstrate the capacity to change the following indicators with a target population of individuals in Polk County, FL workplaces, schools, churches and/or non-profit organizations.
1. Increase individual savings by at least $300 by June 20, 2019
A. Must provide verification of savings by screen shot from EveryDollar.
2. Improve individual credit scores.
B. Must provide verification of increased score by screen shot from reporting agency.
Deadline to apply is midnight, Feb. 1, 2018. Applications must be emailed to email@example.com with a cc to firstname.lastname@example.org. 10 physical copies of the application must also be mailed to 2018 to P.O. Box 1357, Highlands City, FL 33846, or hand delivered to 5605 US 98 S., Highlands City, by Feb. 5. Applicants will receive a confirmation email once printed copies are received. Grant award notices will be sent July 1, 2018.
