In front of a record setting crowd of nearly 700 volunteers, donors and supporters at LEGOLAND Florida Resort, United Way of Central Florida Campaign Co-Chairs Paul and Lynn Noris announced the 2017 campaign would be the organization’s largest ever.
In a recent study done by the Food Research and Action Center, a national anti-hunger nonprofit in Washington D.C., the Lakeland-Winter Haven metropolitan area has a food hardship rate of 23.2 percent, the second highest in the country behind Bakersfield, California.
