The United Way of Central Florida and its partners will make a major announcement concerning improving early childhood literacy in Central Florida on Tuesday, December 15 at the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce. Speakers will include Alan H. Turner II, President and CEO of the United Way of Central Florida; Dr. Eileen Holden, President of Polk State College; Kelly Williams-Puccio, Executive Director of Publix Super Markets Charities Foundation; Kathryn LeRoy, Superintendent, Polk County Public Schools and Kathy Ingram, Director, Multi-Sector Development, Nemours Foundation.
“A true commitment to early childhood education is one of the major indicators of how prosperous a society will be,” said Turner. “The United Way of Central Florida and its partners are ready to work together with our community to help prepare our youngest citizens to be the most successful they can be.”
