2015 was an amazing year for United Way of Central Florida in which we grew in incredible ways and were able to accomplish so much for the residents of Polk, Hardee and Highlands Counties. However, I’ll let you in on a little secret…we’re just getting started!
In the months I have been President and CEO of UWCF I have come to believe that Central Florida is not just a place on a map. It’s a community of connected, caring individuals who have proven that they are always willing to come together to accomplish the impossible.
This year we are going to build on the firm base we’ve established over the past three decades and further improve the outcomes that make our community so great. One of the first things you’ll see is improved pathways of communication with the public. You might have read our revamped newsletter, The Uniter, which will be coming out monthly highlighting the important information you’ll want to know. We are also working on an improved website that will be easier to navigate and more responsive to your needs.
In the coming months I will be working closely with our Strategic Planning Committee to map out our game plan to 2020. We will also continue to reach out to new groups and businesses to expand our base and give thousands of fellow Floridians the chance to participate in our campaign and our upcoming Day of Caring. All this with our eyes looking towards what we can do to further improve our wonderful community.
Without you — our donors, volunteers, friends and staff — we would not be able to touch so many lives. We could not rise in unison to be a greater community and to answer the calls for help from our friends and neighbors. We thank you for your support and we further encourage your partnership with us so that we can continue making an amazingly positive difference. By Living United you help us improve lives that create a happy, healthier tomorrow.
Thank you for welcoming me and my family to Central Florida. We feel very blessed to be here and to be part of this wonderful community. Thank you for all you do.
