As many prepare for the arrival of Hurricane Irma, United Way of Central Florida announced today it has established a fund to help those who will be directly impacted. The fund will facilitate the donation process for those interested in giving storm victims and a hand up in this difficult time.
The generosity of donors will help United Way of Central Florida meet the storm-related needs and support long-term recovery efforts throughout the affected region. With your support, we can rebuild communities the will be effected by the storm and help rebuild lives. We would like to state that 100 percent of the donations received for the Hurricane Irma Relief Fund will go towards recovery efforts in Polk, Hardee and Highlands counties.
Hurricane Irma is expected to make land fall this weekend, and pass through Central Florida as is continues to move north. It is expected to cause major damage to homes and communities throughout the state.
“Irma will be devastating for many families all across Florida, and to many living here in Central Florida,” said Alan H Turner II, president and CEO of UWCF. “I am grateful for the individuals and companies who have already asked us how they can help. We are all fighting for the safety and security of these families and ask others to join us. Please help us as we all work to get our local communities back on track after this historic storm passes through.”
