Four new health programs are coming to United Way. A year long study committee chaired by Bruce Abels, retired Saddle Creek executive, chose the programs as part of their effort to focus United Way's health programs. Polk County employees and employees of the constitutional offices recently held a lunch time carnival to raise money to support the work of United Way in Education, Income and Health. LeaAnn Thomas (Assistant County Manager), Jim Freeman (Interim County Manger) and Bill Beasley (Deputy County Manager) look on at the trophy their team won in competition at the carnival called, "Day of Celebration."
